Kindle Fire Review
Revolutionary is the term being used for the Amazon Kindle Fire. Rightly so, because it is by far the first small tablet an average user can afford and use easily. Being an android device with great specs, the $199 price tag is nothing compared to the other devices of its kind.
For ease of use it has a simple user interface which makes it extremely user friendly. The price and specs are enough to attract anybody. After reading any Kindle Fire review, you will find out that it slows down a bit at times but it is the best small tablet available in this price range.
Lets Begin The Kindle Fire Review Below

- Kindle Fire Size
Kindle Fire Review
This compact solid little device is 7.5 by 4.7 inches and is .45 of an inch in thickness. It weighs about 14.6 ounces. Anyone of you who is familiar with the BlackBerry PlayBook will know the look and feel of the Kindle Fire. But of course the Kindle Fire is smaller.
- Kindle Fire Appearance

Kindle Fire Review
The memory and battery are totally sealed in so there are no slots for them and the smooth surface has only 2 slots -The headphones and micro USB. The only button is the power button and then there are the speakers. Other than that the surface and sides are completely regular and smooth.

The Amazon Kindle Fire has a 1024 by 600 IPS LCD screen. This 7 inch screen has a very sharp and clear display but is reflective at times. The mirror like gloss of the screen might make reading harder in bright light but then again the Kindle Fire is not intended to be a reader. It also does not support a camera. Blue tooth and cellular radio are not amongst its features and it connects to Wi-Fi Networks using 802.11b/g/n.
- Kindle Fire Operating System

Kindle Fire Review
The Kindle Fire runs on a highly custom version of android2.3.4, which is a dual core 1GHz TI OMAP4 processor. Because of this customization the tablet is very simple to use and the non geek types can also operate it very easily. Android is an amazing OS and many people out there still don’t know much about it and are at loss when given an Android device. But anyone who uses it will definitely enjoy the experience.

Kindle Fire Review
Once you power on the Kindle Fire, you will not have a problem finding your way around. As said earlier, the interface is very simple and easy to use. As soon as you light it up you will see 7 categories on your Kindle Fire screen.
These are Web, Apps, Books, Newsstand, Music, Video and Docs.
The bottom of the screen shows your four most used Apps or any apps the user chooses to put there. When you open any of these seven categories you will get access to a space where you can store purchases you have made from the Amazon store or simply loaded by you. Purchasing and arranging items is made extremely easy on this device. This fact is mentioned in almost any Kindle Fire review you come across.
- Kindle Fire eBooks & Storage

Kindle Fire Review
Anyone who has been in and around the Amazon store is familiar with the Kindle books. These books sync well enough with the Kindle Fire but there are some features like zoom and text to speech support that are not available on this device. There are also a number of comics available in the Amazon store and you can also get a subscription of your favorite online magazines.
Since the device has only 6.5 GB of on board storage, the cloud storage feature gains extra importance. You get unlimited cloud storage for anything you purchase from the Amazon store. You can also store your own files on the cloud storage but for that you will get only 5 GB of free space. To upgrade it to 20 GB you will have to pay 20$ annually. You can swap items from the internal memory of your device and the cloud storage at any time.
- Kindle Fire Movie/TV/Music Streaming

Kindle Fire Review
You can watch movies by renting or buying them from the Amazon store or you can watch TV using the Amazon’s Prime subscription streaming service. You can also play your own media, the one that you can copy on your Kindle through your computer. The Kindle Fire Supports MP3, AAC and OGG music formats. For video files, it supports MPEG4 and H.264 formats.
There is no way a Kindle Fire can be connected to a TV. The continuous video playback on the Kindle Fire is 4 hours and 55 minutes that is good when you compare it with other devices falling in the same category. The Kindle Fire also supports flash. This is a huge plus for Amazon when its biggest competitor, Apple’s iPad, does not offer flash support. Because of this, you will probably see many positive Kindle Fire reviews being left by consumers.
- Kindle Fire Apps

Kindle Fire Review
The Amazon App store offers thousands of Kindle Fire Apps and is promising more. The Apps are very easy to install. Other than the App store, if you want to get something on your Kindle Fire, you can do it through your PC. This is even easier. When connected to the PC it simply shows up as a storage device. No need for syncing or anything. You just drag the app or item you want to your Kindle Fire and that’s it.
- Kindle Fire’s Amazon Silk Browser
Now a word about the much talked about Silk Web Browser.
Kindle Fire Review
This new browser is said to have increased the speed of Web Page loads. Also these pages are loaded in very high quality. Flash is supported by the Silk web browser, as you read ealier in this Amazon Fire review, and it displays pages just like a browser would on a desk top. Using tabs you can easily flip between the pages. You can also book mark favorite pages and have the option of pinning them to your home screen. This is specially mentioned in other Kindle Fire reviews.
- Kindle Fire Drawbacks

Kindle Fire Review
There are some draw backs to the silk web browser though. One being, the fact that it does not reformat zoomed columns automatically, so you cant avoid horizontal scrolling. The Kindle fire is not very well equipped when it comes to productivity apps but you have a wide range to choose from the app store and by downloading the right apps you can be as productive as you want to. The Email program is a very simple one too and not that great. Any docs with the Email are converted to the Kindle readable version. Better alternatives for enhancing your Email settings are also available on the apps store. And of course, 2 of the biggest drawbacks for some, as mentioned before in this Kindle Fire review, – The lack of a camera and bluetooth. This means you can take pictures or do any video chatting. Also, you wont have the ability to transfer files between devices. This is a game changer for some, but for those of you can go without a few bells & whistles -at this price point, it is a steal!
- Kindle Fire Bugs?

Kindle Fire Review
The Kindle Fire has a few problems or bugs as you might call them. But for any device that is the first of its kind, these bugs are rather normal. The biggest flaw as you can term it is the occasional sluggishness. At times the touch buttons just don’t respond and you have to wait for a while before you can get something done. The problem is much more apparent when you are reading a comic with heavy graphics or browsing through a magazine.
Another major bug is that the Wi-Fi disconnects when the tablet is in sleep mode and when you wake it up and start re-browsing you will get an error message that you are not connected but will all you need is a few seconds to get connected again.
Kindle Fire Review in a nutshell?
-It will not be wrong to say that the Kindle Fire is the first of its kind, an affordable and simple to use tablet. This simplicity and ease of use are becoming the basic reasons for the Kindle Fire’s popularity. The Kindle Fire is easy to use by elementary age children up to senior citizens. All in all what I hope you find in this Kindle Fire review is that the Kindle Fire is a good, affordable tablet which will give you a great experience.
